Saturday 3rd October 2026 marked another significant milestone in the history of Juno Lodge No. 10001 as Brethren gathered at Dagger Lane, Hull, for the installation of Kieran Rose-Newton as Worshipful Master.

The occasion attracted a large attendance of members, visitors and distinguished guests, including the Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro Mark Iveson, accompanied by a substantial Provincial delegation, who the Lodge was honoured to receive.

As one of the Province's University Scheme lodges, Juno has developed a reputation for combining Masonic tradition with a commitment to learning, mentoring and the development of younger Freemasons. That ethos was evident throughout the day as Brethren from across Yorkshire and beyond assembled to support the Lodge and witness an important moment in its continuing development.

Following the opening of the Lodge, the Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Team were formally received. The business of the meeting then proceeded before attention turned to the principal event of the morning: the installation of the Master Elect, Kieran Rose-Newton, as Worshipful Master of the Lodge. The ceremony was conducted with dignity and precision by the Installing Master, W. Bro Terry Scott, under the guidance of the Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro Barrie Jeffery.

The installation carried particular significance: although W. Bro. Terry Scott was the first Master of Juno Lodge to attain the Chair without having previously served as Master of another Lodge, W. Bro. Kieran Rose‑Newton now becomes the first Worshipful Master of the Lodge in his twenties and the first serving student to take the Chair. His appointment reflects the Lodge’s commitment to nurturing new leaders and supporting the development of younger Freemasons. A particularly memorable and personal moment came during the Board of Installed Masters when Kieran was placed in the Chair by his father, W. Bro Ben Rose. The occasion carried special significance as W. Bro Rose was the Lodge's Primus Master following its consecration, making it a proud milestone not only for father and son, but also in the continuing history of the Lodge itself. The symbolism of the Lodge's first Master placing a future generation into the Chair was appreciated by all present and reflected the strong bonds of friendship, mentorship and continuity that characterise Juno Lodge.

Following the installation, the new Worshipful Master invested his officers for the forthcoming year. The high standard of ritual and ceremonial work throughout the day reflected the dedication of the Lodge's officers and members. Musical contributions added further dignity to the proceedings, thanks to guests W. Bros Eddie Wildman and Richard Smedley, while the strong attendance of visitors highlighted the growing reputation and popularity of Juno Lodge within the Province and beyond.

Following the close of the meeting, Brethren assembled for a lively and well-attended Festive Board, commencing with a presentation by the Hull Sea Cadets. During the proceedings, the Provincial Grand Master congratulated the new Worshipful Master on the confidence and enthusiasm he had displayed throughout the ceremony and encouraged the Brethren of Juno Lodge to support him during the year ahead.

A particular highlight of the Festive Board was the DKW Loving Cup Ceremony, a tradition associated with University Scheme Freemasonry and one that reflects the bonds of friendship between university lodges across the Constitution. The history and significance of the cup were explained by W. Bro James Steele, before it was formally claimed on behalf of the Lodge of Connaught and Truth No. 521, continuing a valued tradition of inter-lodge fellowship and friendly competition.

The afternoon featured a full programme of toasts, music and speeches, with visitors and members alike enjoying the warm hospitality for which Juno Lodge is becoming well known. The occasion also supported charitable causes close to the new Worshipful Master's interests through fundraising activities conducted during the Festive Board.

From the arrival of the Provincial delegation to the final parting toast, the day showcased the very best of Freemasonry: friendship, tradition, learning, charity and personal development. For a lodge established only a few years ago, Juno Lodge No. 10001 continues to demonstrate remarkable vitality and ambition, and the installation of W. Bro Kieran Rose-Newton represents another important chapter in its story.

The Brethren of Juno Lodge extend their sincere thanks to the Provincial Grand Master, Provincial Officers, visiting Brethren and all those who contributed to making the day such a memorable success. They wish the new Worshipful Master every success and happiness during his year in the Chair and look forward to another successful year under the banner of Juno Lodge's motto: Sapere Aude - Dare to Know.
