Members of Inquirimus Lodge of Installed Masters, No. 8132, gathered for their April meeting at the Masonic Hall in Filey, where they enjoyed a compelling talk by W.Bro. Steve Waudby of Agricola Lodge, No. 1991.
As Director of Aviation for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, W.Bro. Waudby shared fascinating insights into the charity's operations, drawing on his background as an RAF pilot. Brethren were particularly struck by the vast area covered by the service and the substantial running costs of this vital life-saving operation.
In appreciation, Worshipful Master Fred Thornton presented W.Bro. Waudby with a £1000 donation on behalf of the lodge. This generous gift will directly support the Air Ambulance's essential work in delivering rapid emergency medical care across the region.
Inquirimus Lodge, known for advancing Masonic knowledge through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations rather than standard ceremonies, meets three times annually on the fourth Thursday in February, April, and October. Originally formed in Scarborough, it relocated to Filey in 1982 and welcomes installed masters, and visitors without needing to be a past master.
This event underscores the lodge's commitment to both fraternal education and charitable causes, aligning with Freemasonry's core principles of brotherly support and community service.
