Description

The Provincial Summer Ball and Festival Cricket match (a Festival XI  and a Provincial XI will battle it our for the honour of walking away with the inaugural cricket challenge cup!) will be held on Saturday 8 August 2026.

 

The cricket match will start at 1pm at St Peter's School,  York, followed by the Ball, which will be held at The Mercure Hotel, also in York, starting at 7.30pm.  More details below!

 




CRICKET MATCH


 


We are delighted to invite you to take part in the YNER Provincial Cricket Match in aid of Festival 29, taking place at:

? Saturday 8th August 2026
? Time: 1:00pm – 5:00pm


Arrival from 12:00pm is advised for parking and preparation


This promises to be a fantastic afternoon of cricket, camaraderie, and fundraising as we bring together two teams in support of a truly important cause.

We are looking to select two squads of 13 players (11 players and 2 substitutes per team).

Cricketers wishing to take part are invited to contact the relevant team captain below. When registering your interest, please confirm:
• Which team you qualify for
• Your cricketing role (e.g. batsman, bowler, all-rounder, wicketkeeper)
• A brief outline of your experience
What equipment you have available (e.g. bat, pads, gloves, etc.)

• Members of the Festival team
• Holders of a Festival Jewel
• Anyone actively supporting Festival 29 or connected with the MCF


Provincial XI:
• Members of a Lodge within the Province
• Members of a Chapter within the Province

£50 per player (includes food and soft drinks)


 


? Spectators Welcome


 


We warmly encourage brethren, family and friends to attend and support the day.


• £5 per spectator (to cover buffet costs)
• Please feel free to bring camping chairs
• WC facilities will be available

We are proud to be raising funds for Festival 29 and would love for you to be part of what promises to be a memorable and enjoyable day. A raffle may also take place on the day to further support the cause.
