Brother Joseph with his grandfather at Burlington Lodge

Burlington Lodge No. 3975 in Bridlington enjoyed an unforgettable evening recently, as Brother Joseph was initiated into Freemasonry in a ceremony that bridged the generations.

The Lodge welcomed the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Simon Simpson, together with a team of Active Provincial Officers. Joseph's grandfather, warmly known as "Brother Grandad", served as Junior Warden, making the evening a special blend of family ties and Masonic tradition.

Joseph, a senior naval architect,  joins the Craft eager to uphold its values. The ceremony was meticulously performed, and the Assistant Provincial Grand Master expressed his admiration for the Lodge's dedication to giving Joseph the best start on his Masonic journey.

The evening was further enriched by the Lodge's generous donation of £200 to Festival 29, which was gratefully accepted by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

At the festive board the highlight was Brother Grandad's toast to the Initiate and Joseph's response, followed by a rendition of the Entered Apprentice's Song, sung with great gusto by the brethren.
W Bro Simpson said: "I am truly grateful to the Worshipful Master, Wardens, and Brethren of Burlington Lodge for extending such a warm welcome to myself and my team. It was an excellent ceremony to give Brother Joseph the best possible start on his Masonic journey and very enjoyable throughout."
