Stephen Fleming of De Brus Lodge has just reached the remarkable milestone of donating his 100th pint of blood.
Stephen started donating blood at the age of 18, 48 years ago, making his 100th donation on 15th June 2026.
He had to pause donating on a few occasions due to work commitments in India and Norway, so he had a 2 year break in that time. He donates because he says it's his way of "giving a little something back".
Here he is with his granddaughter Beatrice who arrived to congratulate him after his donation with a balloon.

One million new blood donors are needed over the next five years to ensure patients continue to receive the types of blood they need, and there's a particular need for Black African, Black Caribbean and younger donors. The NHS needs 35,000 donations a week to treat patients in need across England. 134,000 people donated blood for the first time last year - why not consider joining them - and Stephen?
Although there are some people who cannot donate blood, if you are generally fit and well, aged 17 to 65 if itโs your first donation, or up to 72 if youโve donated before (or older if you donate regularly) and weigh between 7 stone 12 lbs (50kg) and 25 stone (158kg), you could potentially be a donor. It's easy to find out if you are able to donate.
