Anchor Lodge venture afar

 676a97c81607c county chapter 5

When Anchor Lodge were visited recently by Bro. Andrew Watson of County Lodge 6678 in the Province of Durham, discussion followed about a reciprocal visit taking place at some time, especially as Bro Andrew is the nephew of Bro Artie Blewitt, the current Senior Deacon of Anchor Lodge.

And it was not long before the opportunity arose as Bro Artie received notice that Bro Andrew would be raised to the Third Degree on the 18th of December.

So it was decided that despite the risks of travelling to the darkest depths of Darlington, Anchor Lodge would visit and support Andrew on his special evening.

And so at the allotted hour 11 members of Anchor Lodge 1337 cast all caution aside and travelled over the border into the Province of Durham.

Having witnessed an excellent ceremony and noted a number of differences in the way it was carried out, all retired downstairs where they enjoyed the fellowship of the Brethren not just from County Lodge, but also other lodges present, Anchor forming the largest contingent of visitors.

All concerned agreed that it was an excellent evening, so having exchanged festive greetings and salutations, and with old friendships re-kindled and new ones made, together with promises to continue with reciprocal visits, the brethren made their respective ways home in peace and harmony.
