W.Bro. David Nesbitt Rex PPGSupWks with R.W.Bro. Bernard Smith. PGStB PGM Balearic Islands

On a recent visit to the island of Mallorca, W.Bro. David Nesbitt-Rex of Victory Lodge No 4042 was invited to a meeting of Ramon Lull Lodge no.9 (Grand Lodge of Spain) who meet in the city of Palma. As a guest of the newly appointed PGM of the Balearics R.W.Bro. Bernard Smith, W.Bro David reports that he witnessed an excellent 2nd Degree ceremony before a short journey to a local restaurant for the festive board. Many rounds of tapas, main courses and desserts were washed down with a generous helping of Spanish wine!

The lodge meets in English but there are several nationalities as members. A large number of visitors were present including a delegation from a lodge in Valencia who had flown in for the meeting. W.Bro David noted that he received a very warm welcome and it was good to see Masonry flourishing in the Balearic Islands.

All necessary clearances for visiting a lodge abroad were arranged via the Provincial Grand Secretary.
