Falcon Lodge is supporting 14-year-old Izzy March-Shawcross from Carlton Miniott, North Yorkshire, who is raising funds to go on a once in a lifetime World Challenge trip to Mozambique and Eswatini in 2027.
The itinerary includes a whale shark conservation and monitoring project, undertaking a community project, a physical challenge of a 4-day hike of the Lubombo Trail, and a safari in Kruger National park. Part of the learning experience is to raise the money herself over 2 years, stepping out of her comfort zone, engaging with new people and new challenges.
After her trip, Izzy will give a presentation to the Lodge about her expedition and experiences.
Izzy has already raised over £1,000 towards the near-£6000 cost by selling cakes, dog biscuits and sweets, and hosting a pub quiz.
Our picture shows W Bro John Murphy, Falcon Lodge Treasurer, presenting Izzy with a contribution of £250. The Lodge has promised further support of another £250.00 next year if Izzy can hit the 50% milestone of raised funds. We wish her the best of luck!
