Having risen to the challenge to claim all three travelling sceptres within the Province, 12 members of Anchor Chapter travelled to the wilds of Scarborough, more precisely Denison Chapter on the 8th of April in an attempt to complete their quest.
The delegation consisting of the Principals, the IPZ, two Supreme Grand Chapter Officers and six additional companions enjoyed a convivial evening which included a talk on The Red Cross of Constantine, a festive board which included an excellent steak pie and of course the claiming of the travelling sceptre.
Having been successful in their quest the intrepid band of companions, returned flushed with success to their respective homes, by which time it was the 9th of April!
And so ended a quest which had begun on the 26th of March and involved journeys to Richmond, Hull, and of course Scarborough, travelling in excess of 330 miles.
But more importantly re-kindled the companions enjoyment of visiting, meeting new companions along the way, witnessing the differences in ritual, visiting new places, but above all adding further enjoyment to their masonic journey.
The three sceptres are currently on display in Northallerton Masonic hall where they will remain until the next meeting of Anchor Chapter at the end of May at which time they will be separated again and return to the separate areas of the province ready for their journey to begin again.
