Thornborough Lodge Supports Michael Syddall School

  • Jim MacAlister

On Wednesday 23 September, Jim MacAlister, Charity Steward of Thornborough Lodge No. 6434, visited Michael Syddall Church of England Aided Primary School in Catterick Village to present a grant of £250 on behalf of the Lodge.

The donation will support the school’s Special Educational Needs department and will be used to purchase sensory equipment for its new, self-funded sensory room. The dedicated space will give pupils access to carefully selected resources designed to create a calm, engaging and supportive environment. Sensory equipment can help children regulate their responses, build confidence and participate more fully in learning and everyday school life.

Michael Syddall is a Church of England voluntary aided primary school serving children aged 4 to 11. The school aims to provide a happy, rich, exciting and challenging environment in which every child is encouraged to reach their true potential. Thornborough Lodge is delighted to contribute to this worthwhile project and to support the school’s commitment to inclusive education.

The presentation was warmly received by school representatives, and the visit offered an opportunity to learn more about the difference the new room will make. The grant reflects the Lodge’s continuing commitment to supporting local organisations and projects that provide a direct and lasting benefit to children and families in the community.
